Once known as Dinghy's & Outboards, we've overhauled the name - but not the mission. Marine Canterbury is the engine room of Christchurch's marine scene.

We’re your local Suzuki Outboard dealer, running power all the way up to 350 horses, plus expert support to keep every piston firing and every weekend uninterrupted.

Behind the scenes? A modern workshop where grease meets genius. From outboards and inboards to high-performance tournament wakeboard and ski boats, we get under the hood and bring machines back to life like.

From boat sales to secure storage, Marine Canterbury is your full-service marine HQ, handling everything from bow to stern. Locally owned, quality-obsessed, and always ready to keep you on the water where you belong.

Meet The Team

  • Nigel South

    - Director/Skipper -

    Nigel is a passionate boater, loves water skiing and a bit of fishing. A Family man with two small children. Christmas time you will always find him camping swimming skiing with the extended family at Glendhu bay Wanaka. Come say gidday.

  • Garry Hanna

    - Senior Technician -

    Gary is one of our senior technicians with many years in the boating trade, from building hulls, rigging and fixing outboards. He was trained by Mercury NZ and is a registered Mercrusier technician. Garry is also a bit of a IT man, he loves playing with electronics both at work and at home.

  • Gary Parker

    - Senior Technician -

    Gary is also one of our senior technicians with many years in the boating trade. He was trained by Mercury NZ and is a registered Mercrusier technician which he has a real passion for. In his time off you will find Gary building and racing boats and cars. He loves taking the family water skiing.

  • Cameron Shearman

    - Customer Service -

    Cam has moved from our afterschool employee to full time this year. He brings a great attitude and loves the water. In his spare time Cam loves to explore our waters diving and fishing .
